Goodbye's ain't easy

This will likely be my last post; Summer is coming and I will be just too darn busy to update my blog. It has been a pleasure sharing some of my most exciting experiences with you; I hope you have enjoyed reading about them.

To end this blog, I would like to share some of the BEST times I have had over the last few weeks.
This is me at Grandma's last weekend when my parents were gone on another "no pet" vacation. It's pretty rude that they don't bring me on vacation with them, but, I have a good time at Grandmas and they take pretty good care of me too.
One lazy morning, Dad snapped a picture of me to Mom while she was at work. I love when I get to sleep in rather than having to get up and go to work at the crack of dawn (my parents go to work, I go to the garage).
Next, you will find me doing what I love most. Playing ball! Well, I am actually waiting for someone to throw the ball for me...but you get the idea. (Mom just had to get a picture first, of course).
I am glad I had the opportunity to give you a glimpse into my life with my mom and dad. I am so glad that they adopted me, like I said in the beginning of this blog, I think I will keep them!

Easter...Saturday?

We celebrated Easter with Mom's family a week and a day early, so Saturday, April 8th. It was the only time that Mom's mom's family (Grandma's side) could get together, being that there are two nurses in the family and two cousins that live over an hour away.
So, it was a good time, well once I got there. Mom had me stay home when she left; Dad was at the farm, doing stuff, so he was supposed to meet her there and bring me. Let's just say Dad was about 4 hours late getting to the party and Mom wasn't all too happy, and leave it at that.
Mom said we missed a good time and told me she was sorry for not just bringing me in the first place. There were a lot of kids there, ones I have never met before, but they sure liked me, even though I only got to play with them for a little bit before they had to go home with their parents. Mom says, "its the new generation."
Mom says she got to see her "best little buddy" (besides me) at the party too. His name is Miles, he is one of Mom's nephews, and she is always saying how much she misses him because she never gets to see him. So, needless to say, she was pretty happy about getting to spend some time with him at the family Easter party.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter Sunday; the weather was great! 🌞🌞🌞

The Vet Visit

Tuesday afternoon Mom called me into the garage and said we were going for a car ride. Boy, was I excited because it was a warm, sunny day and I couldn't wait to ride with my head out the window. She never said where we were going, so I thought it must be a surprise! Shortly after leaving home, I thought I had it figured out...Mom was taking me to Grandma's to play! Welllll, I was wrong. Mom drove right past Grandma's turn and continued on down the road; I was starting to feel alittle nervous. I didn't know where we were going, but I had a good guess... the vet.

I was right. Soon enough we pulled up to a semi-familiar place, the blue building where I see other dogs I have never met before. The only time Mom puts my on a leash is when we go to this blue building. They try to give me these "treats" that taste like cardboard and I just spit them out. I hear Mom say, "Sorry, he is a treat snob.." Well, Mom, they taste like poo... maybe she should try them?!

It's finally my turn to go behind the door; I enter nervously, trying to play it cool. I get "checked out" by the doc, what feels more like a man-handling, and we go on our way. THEN, we get back home, and Mom says she has "treats" for me too, but, I heard her say earlier that it was my medicine... I spit them back at her, (she didn't like that very much I don't think). Mom makes me take them, but then gives me the "good treats" afterward, and she said she was sorry, but it "was for my own good."

I also got two shots at the vet, and yes, they hurt like H. E. double hockey sticks!
Here are all the reasons Mom, and the vet said I have to get my shots and eat my medicine....

Recap

I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on the last week's events, because boy, it sure has been busy! As I mentioned, last weekend I was going to my grandma and grandpa's house while my parents went to Alexandria for the weekend, a "mini vaca" for Mom's birthday. I was soooo busy at my grandparents house, helping do work and running all over the woods with my uncle, Frank. He is similar to a caveman with a bushy beard and uncombed hair, haha! But, he kept me busy all weekend and I was so tired on Saturday night, that I couldn't even jump up on Grandma's couch! Sunday afternoon, Dad came home and picked me up. He called Mom, worried because I was so tired and couldn't jump up onto the bed (well, you run 1548531 miles in one day and jump up on the bed...) 😉

I am still pretty sore, I guess I am limping when I walk and Mom and Dad keep checking my legs, and paws and pads and come up with nothing. I wish they would just realize I pulled a muscle and I'll be fine; I can tell how worried they are about me.

Friday night, my German Shepard friend, Roman came over to play. He is only 5 months old and is bigger than me! Everyone keeps saying, "look how big his paws are," or "ohhh, he is going to be big..." He is a lot of fun to play with, but slobbers on me a lot too.

My mom worked all weekend and I missed her, but I think she missed me more. As soon as she got home today, she hugged me all over, checked my paws and then made me sit on her lap for a good 2 minutes. See for yourself...
