Easter...Saturday?

We celebrated Easter with Mom's family a week and a day early, so Saturday, April 8th. It was the only time that Mom's mom's family (Grandma's side) could get together, being that there are two nurses in the family and two cousins that live over an hour away.
So, it was a good time, well once I got there. Mom had me stay home when she left; Dad was at the farm, doing stuff, so he was supposed to meet her there and bring me. Let's just say Dad was about 4 hours late getting to the party and Mom wasn't all too happy, and leave it at that.
Mom said we missed a good time and told me she was sorry for not just bringing me in the first place. There were a lot of kids there, ones I have never met before, but they sure liked me, even though I only got to play with them for a little bit before they had to go home with their parents. Mom says, "its the new generation."
Mom says she got to see her "best little buddy" (besides me) at the party too. His name is Miles, he is one of Mom's nephews, and she is always saying how much she misses him because she never gets to see him. So, needless to say, she was pretty happy about getting to spend some time with him at the family Easter party.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter Sunday; the weather was great! 🌞🌞🌞

The Vet Visit

Tuesday afternoon Mom called me into the garage and said we were going for a car ride. Boy, was I excited because it was a warm, sunny day and I couldn't wait to ride with my head out the window. She never said where we were going, so I thought it must be a surprise! Shortly after leaving home, I thought I had it figured out...Mom was taking me to Grandma's to play! Welllll, I was wrong. Mom drove right past Grandma's turn and continued on down the road; I was starting to feel alittle nervous. I didn't know where we were going, but I had a good guess... the vet.

I was right. Soon enough we pulled up to a semi-familiar place, the blue building where I see other dogs I have never met before. The only time Mom puts my on a leash is when we go to this blue building. They try to give me these "treats" that taste like cardboard and I just spit them out. I hear Mom say, "Sorry, he is a treat snob.." Well, Mom, they taste like poo... maybe she should try them?!

It's finally my turn to go behind the door; I enter nervously, trying to play it cool. I get "checked out" by the doc, what feels more like a man-handling, and we go on our way. THEN, we get back home, and Mom says she has "treats" for me too, but, I heard her say earlier that it was my medicine... I spit them back at her, (she didn't like that very much I don't think). Mom makes me take them, but then gives me the "good treats" afterward, and she said she was sorry, but it "was for my own good."

I also got two shots at the vet, and yes, they hurt like H. E. double hockey sticks!
Here are all the reasons Mom, and the vet said I have to get my shots and eat my medicine....

Recap

I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on the last week's events, because boy, it sure has been busy! As I mentioned, last weekend I was going to my grandma and grandpa's house while my parents went to Alexandria for the weekend, a "mini vaca" for Mom's birthday. I was soooo busy at my grandparents house, helping do work and running all over the woods with my uncle, Frank. He is similar to a caveman with a bushy beard and uncombed hair, haha! But, he kept me busy all weekend and I was so tired on Saturday night, that I couldn't even jump up on Grandma's couch! Sunday afternoon, Dad came home and picked me up. He called Mom, worried because I was so tired and couldn't jump up onto the bed (well, you run 1548531 miles in one day and jump up on the bed...) 😉

I am still pretty sore, I guess I am limping when I walk and Mom and Dad keep checking my legs, and paws and pads and come up with nothing. I wish they would just realize I pulled a muscle and I'll be fine; I can tell how worried they are about me.

Friday night, my German Shepard friend, Roman came over to play. He is only 5 months old and is bigger than me! Everyone keeps saying, "look how big his paws are," or "ohhh, he is going to be big..." He is a lot of fun to play with, but slobbers on me a lot too.

My mom worked all weekend and I missed her, but I think she missed me more. As soon as she got home today, she hugged me all over, checked my paws and then made me sit on her lap for a good 2 minutes. See for yourself...

When I was a Puppy...

I haven't shared too much about my past, like when I was a lil pup, other than you know that I won the hearts of my humans right away! I was the runt of the liter (that is why my dad picked me he said). I just needed alittle time to grown into my ears...
I was 13 weeks old when my humans adopted me, so I wasn't a real small puppy, but they still loved me.

It's hard to believe that I couldn't even get up and down the stairs for my first few weeks... my legs were just too short to make those steps, but I kept trying and eventually I conquered them. Now, I run up and down those steps so fast you can hardly see me!

Ahhh, my first blue collar 😍 And, my first snow mustache! Boy, I was suuurrrrre cute, and now I am just ruggedly handsome!

I used to fit on my Dad's lap without any trouble at all. And, my first fishing trip to South Dakota, I got to ride on the arm rest in Dad's truck. Now I'm too big for that, but I still like to sit on Mom and Dad's laps, if they let me.

One last picture of me as a pup...

My mom

I would like to take this opportunity to talk to you guys about my mom, and the reason is, it's almost her birthday! In five days, Mom will be 29 (human years, of course). I can't decide what to get her for her birthday- do you think she would like one of my special rawhides? Well, I suppose she wouldn't since she bought them, huh?
Mom and Dad are going away for the weekend and apparently this place is "dog free." Sounds like a dive if you ask me... So, I'll be spending a few nights at grandma and grandpa's; I heard Mom talking to them yesterday on the phone, confirming plans and what not, and they said, "oh, that whole time we'll have Bow?" They must really be excited to have me, or maybe I misheard their tone?
Tomorrow is a big day for Mom. She worked all weekend, so it's her day off and I heard her say she is getting her hair and nails done. That must mean it's time for a mani/pedi for me too! If you have read any of my previous posts, you know how much I love mani/pedi day! Recap:
The rest of the weekend has been rather unexciting. It's okay though, because there was enough excitement last weekend to last the rest of the month! My Mom at her finest everybody...

Sunday not so funday

Well, my weekend went a little differently than planned, but all in all, it was a good one. I am literally so tired from partying with my friends all weekend, I have been snuggled up on the couch all day (Mom has mostly been snuggled up on the cough too, though).
So, I didn't end up going to grandma & grandpa's house because Mom took me with her to her friends! We were at my best friend Zoey's house almost all weekend. We played and played and stayed up late; so that is why I'm so exhausted today.
Dad is home now too from ND. Sounds like they had a pretty good trip and caught lots of fish (and ate lots of fish). So, now I'll be getting back to my napping- it's been a rough day 😉😉😉

Cheers to the Weekend!

Another week come and gone; now it's the weekend my friends! My dad is gone again on another fishing excursion, North Dakota this time. He left early Wednesday morning, so it's just been me and Mom. She has been working a lot, so I've been holding down the fort.

The wind has been pretty vicious these last few days. I can hardly play outside without getting blown away. We even lost a tree! Dad cleaned it up before he left, but I supervised to make sure he did it right.
Saturday, Mom is going out with her friends, celebrating some St. Patrick. She keeps talking about green beer and leprechauns. Anyways, I get to go to Grandma and Grandpas! I love when they babysit because I get to do whatever I want (as opposed to home?). When we are driving to their house, I know as soon as we turn on their gravel road where we are going, and I can't wait to get there! But, I am always ready to go home and snuggle with Mom on the couch the next day.
